Dr. Sydney did not always sit in the dentist's chair. As a child, she spent many hours in the dental office enduring braces, head gear, cavities, and retainers to achieve the radiant smile that she wears today. Unlike the common perception that a trip to the dentist meant undue stress and anxiety, she looked forward to the warm hospitality and personalized care that accompanied her visit and never left without a smile on her face and a shiny new sticker on her shirt. This feeling of comfort is exactly what she aims to instill in each of her patients, providing the exceptional care that drew her to dentistry from the very beginning.
Born in Atlanta, GA, Sydney grew up in Grand Island, attending Stolley Park Elementary and Barr Middle School. She is a fourth-generation graduate of Grand Island Senior High, where she competed in basketball and volleyball. She also participated in high school rodeo, competing in breakaway roping and team roping.
Sydney earned her Bachelor of Science in biology from Wayne State College and her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry. She also graduated from the Wehrle Implant Immersion Course and earned a Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services certification.
Her family includes her husband, Nolan Grint, a fifth-grade teacher at Shoemaker Elementary who also trains rope horses; their dog, Ozzy; and cat, Margaux. Her parents are Will and Lori Armstrong of Grand Island.
“Fixing your smile makes you happy and confident. It’s instant gratification for both the patient and dentist.” — Sydney Armstrong, DDS
